Allāh says, “Do you not see how Allāh compares a good word to a good tree? Its root is firm and its branches reach the sky, always yielding its fruit in every season by the leave of its Lord. This is how Allāh sets forth parables for the people, so perhaps they will be mindful.” (Q14: 24-25)
Allāh has compared the best of statements, the statement of faith to a tree which is the best of trees having these extraordinary qualities. Its roots are firm, it is continually thriving, and it bears fruit all the time and in every season. Its fruits and benefits are readily available for its owners and others.
This tree varies greatly in the hearts of the believers based on the variation of the qualities that Allāh has described it with. Therefore, the servant must learn about it and its qualities, he must know what brings it into existence as well as what gives it strength and firmness. He must familiarise himself with its roots and its branches, and he must expend all effort in tending to this tree in terms of knowledge and action. A person’s portion of goodness, success, and happiness in this life and the next depends on the extent to which this tree grows in his heart.
