كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ

“This is a Book We have revealed to you full of blessings, so let people of intelligence ponder its verses and take heed.” (Q38:29)

The Qurʾān is a blessed scripture. It is the very word of Allāh, our Lord Most High. It is blessed in its wording, its meaning, its guidance, and in its rules and regulations. It imparts its blessings both in this life and the next.

A person is rewarded for each letter he or she recites, and that reward is multiplied tenfold. A person who has difficulty reciting it but patiently struggles on will get double reward. Peace and tranquillity descend on those who recite it, and the best of people is someone who learns it and teaches it to others. Those who study the Qurʾān will be enveloped in Allāh’s mercy, surrounded by the Angels and Allāh Himself will mention them to the Highest Company of Angels.

The Qurʾān guides to that which is best and most upright in this life. In the next life, it will intercede for those who recited it and lived by it. It will guide a person to Paradise and his rank there will be determined by the amount he has memorised. A heart that is devoid of the Qurʾān is a dead heart, distant from Allāh and is like a ruined house, worthless and abandoned. In contrast, Allāh will not punish a heart that has His word in it because such a person is sweet in His sight.
