WISE Welfare Hardship Fund
Are you going through hard times?
Many of us go through difficult patches in our lives. This could be due to problems at home, stress at work, business taking a nosedive, or losing a loved one. We all need someone to turn to, whether that's a family member, friend, imam or counsellor. The mosque offers many supports services to help people out, and we often find that people are also suffering money problems, particularly, when life takes a negative turn. The COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdown has made things much worse for many people. Therefore, we wanted to reach out and let you know that WISE Welfare do have a hardship fund just for these types of occasions.
Hardship Fund Application
If your children are going hungry or you don't have the device for children to study from home or even money to keep the gas on, it can be a lot to bear. You should approach us and see if you are eligible for a grant to help you through this difficult phase. The easiest way is to complete the secure online application form in the link using your device and submit to WISE Welfare:
Note that WISE Welfare is a small local charity based in High Wycombe so we can only consider applicants who live in Buckinghamshire, and priority will be given to those in High Wycombe.
Are you Eligible?
We consider applications if, for example, you have rent arrears, facing debt problems, experience sudden loss of income related to illness, family breakdown, job insecurity, benefit problems or as a victim of crime. Although we recommend that you apply to statutory agencies to obtain support, we are happy to do what we can to provide some financial assistance and guidance during difficult times.
Information we need
When you or somebody applies on your behalf for assistance by completing an application form, we will expect details of a referee and some supporting documentation including bank statements to show evidence of financial hardship, depending on the amount requested. If you don't have all the information, don't worry, just submit the request and our friendly coordinator will privately and confidentially follow-up with you if more information is required. The WISE Welfare management team will then decide on how much, if any, funds to make available to help you out. This could range from spending £50 for buying shopping or £200 for furniture/white goods to paying £1000 to cover rent arrears.
