Covid-19 is not only disrupting economies and businesses but is also severely impacting charities that rely solely on donations to operate.
In these unprecedented and testing times, WISE has temporarily closed the masjid and postponed all activities in light of this crisis. This will undoubtedly have a direct impact on the masjid’s operations, including the expected decline in income, especially from the Friday collections. Nevertheless, the masjid will still need to continue meeting its monthly expenditures. As you can appreciate, this will have a devastating financial impact in the coming weeks.
WISE has always sustained itself with the kind and generous donations from you and is therefore appealing to you now for help. We appreciate that this a time of amplified anxiety and people are feeling particularly vulnerable, but we must remind ourselves that peace and security are ultimately from Allah.
We need your help so we can continue to offer vital services to our community. Please click below to our Total Giving page and donate generously to aid the masjid.

The place of the Face Veil in Islam
“Britain’s first Gay Muslim marriage,” “…You can be gay and be a Muslim” Well yes, you can be a gay and be a Muslim. The homosexual act (not the homosexual urge – which should still be resisted) is prohibited in Islam – the texts are definitive concerning this and there has been a unanimous consensus […]
#MeToo has been doing the rounds on social media, highlighting a shocking number of female (and a significant number of male) victims of of sexual harassment and sexual assault. Seemingly blind to culture, race, religion and class, it exists at all levels. Many of the stories recounted are harrowing; in fact some I, personally, could […]
Racism is evil. Black, brown, white. African, Asian, European. Race, nationality and culture are just social constructs but so often lead to oppression, injustice, hatred. And inhumanity. Slavery, genocide, apartheid, prejudice, discrimination all perpetrated simply because one human being is seen as inherently inferior to another. At a political or social level, this still exists […]

Bidāyatu’l-Sūl fī Tafdīl al-Rasūl (SAW) Commencing the Quest Concerning the Nobility of the Messenger (SAW) Imām al-ʿIzz ibn ʿAbdu’l-Salām (d. 660H) All praise and thanks are due to Allāh who created man and graced him with heart and tongue. The worth of every man is judged by what he seeks. The value of a person who seeks Allāh is beyond measure; a person who covets this world is too lowly to be valued.al-Shiblī said, ‘Whoever clings to this world will be burned in its blaze, becoming ashes blown about by the wind. Whoever clings […]
