Covid-19 is not only disrupting economies and businesses but is also severely impacting charities that rely solely on donations to operate.
In these unprecedented and testing times, WISE has temporarily closed the masjid and postponed all activities in light of this crisis. This will undoubtedly have a direct impact on the masjid’s operations, including the expected decline in income, especially from the Friday collections. Nevertheless, the masjid will still need to continue meeting its monthly expenditures. As you can appreciate, this will have a devastating financial impact in the coming weeks.
WISE has always sustained itself with the kind and generous donations from you and is therefore appealing to you now for help. We appreciate that this a time of amplified anxiety and people are feeling particularly vulnerable, but we must remind ourselves that peace and security are ultimately from Allah.
We need your help so we can continue to offer vital services to our community. Please click below to our Total Giving page and donate generously to aid the masjid.

The place of the Face Veil in Islam
“Britain’s first Gay Muslim marriage,” “…You can be gay and be a Muslim” Well yes, you can be a gay and be a Muslim. The homosexual act (not the homosexual urge – which should still be resisted) is prohibited in Islam – the texts are definitive concerning this and there has been a unanimous consensus […]
#MeToo has been doing the rounds on social media, highlighting a shocking number of female (and a significant number of male) victims of of sexual harassment and sexual assault. Seemingly blind to culture, race, religion and class, it exists at all levels. Many of the stories recounted are harrowing; in fact some I, personally, could […]
The only person who will be successful tomorrow is one who meets Allāh with a sound heart, containing none save Him, “…the Day when neither wealth nor sons will be of any use – except for he who comes to Allāh with a sound and flawless heart.” (Q26:88-89)The sound heart is that heart which is […]
Aḥmad and ibn Ḥibbān record on the authority of ʿAbdullāh b. al-Mughaffal (RA) that a man met a woman who used to be a prostitute in the Days of Ignorance. While flirting with her, he extended his hand towards her upon which she said, ‘Stop, Allāh has removed shirk and brought Islām,’ so he removed […]
The Prophet (SAW) said, “Moderation, moderation! Through this will you attain your goal!”This statement encourages us to be moderate in worship in a way that avoids both extremes of excess and deficiency. It is for this reason that he (SAW) repeated it twice. al-Bazzār records the ḥadīth on the authority of Ḥudhayfah (RA) that the […]
Whoever suffices with knowledge of the Qurʾān and Sunnah, confining himself to what is reported from the Companions and Successors (in matters of the religion), makes his intention sincere – seeking Allāh’s face – and turns to Him for help, He will aid him, guide him, grant him divine accord, make him firm, grant him […]
